Today the World witnessed a supernal sight of the magnificent diamond ring that occurs once in 100 years. The solar eclipse was visible for nearly three minutes after it occurred. Certain locations marked this historic event as the “longest solar eclipse of the 21st Century”. Starting at around 1:32am (GMT) the eclipse lasted for 6 minutes and 39 seconds.
Unfortunately the eclipse was only visible in Asia and the Pacific. But the Asians simply loved it. And apparently, what a hoo-hah on the internet to watch live streaming of the celestial spectacle. On Twitter @AstronomyMag kept the viewers updated about each movement of the moon coming in the sun’s way which is a rare sight. The clouds played hide-and-seek but still astro-enthusiasts gathered at several places. They got their prize as they got a glimpse of the sun. Eighty-three per cent of the sun dial was obscured by the moon.
The Government of Gujarat explained how beautiful the solar eclipse could look. They also advised the citizens to take precautions before viewing the eclipse. So much that a special website was launched to cover the incredible event. The diamond merchants in Surat were expected to be thrilled to watch the surreal celebrations.
Live webcast from Japan kept a track of the eclipse on their website Live! Eclipse 2009. The diamond ring started to form in Jaipur but wasn’t visible. Later news from Varansi and Delhi stormed the internet. Google Trends can not be forgotten as they presented their version of the coverage all across the globe. Live Surya Grahan also gave importance to the Hindu Mythology and how it relates to the nature’s sight. The Darkness at Dawn certainly surprised the birds was covered by NDTV Live from Varanasi.
Recently on the population day the health minister said to the people of the country that "please watch television in the evening" which will help to reduce population. The idea behind that was ...after evening as people do not have anything to do they start producing more children...his sentence was "bacchhe paidaa karne ka factory shuru ho jata hey" (the factory for producing kids starts).....
Dear health minister....i believe first you should fine tune your brain for the 21 century and please mind your language. This is because you are talking to people and not animals.
From my perspective i believe development will be the best contraceptive for birth control and here is how.......
1. People in villages and poor people produce more children because they know that few of the children will survive due to poor health and un-hygienic surroundings they live in.
2. As an example of deadly diseases that are still in india....Polio disease incidence has since been slashed by more than 99 per cent and remains endemic in four countries: Afghanistan, India, Nigeria and Pakistan....We are compared to Afghanistan in health...wow....
3. Somalia eradicated polio recently. Somalia is a country whose GDP is 1 % of india.....
4. People in villages want more children for agriculture and other field related activities. They say that their only source of income after they get old is to depend on their agriculture land ploughed by their children. More the children more they can look after the land very well....
5. Also more the children, they can send them to different work places as child laborers to earn money.
The only solution for all this problems is to eradicate poverty and start development and improve health and hygienic infrastructure in india....Instead watching more TV will only tempt me to have more children after seeing may be a hot scene :-)...
So think once again Mr. health minister.....
